When shampooing, be sure to run your fingers from the scalp to the ends of the hair to avoid tangling, and avoid making circular motions. When conditioning, comb out the hair while the conditioner is in, and rinse thoroughly to ensure no conditioner is left behind, as leftover conditioner can lead to tangling.

It's important to exercise caution when using heat styling tools - the temperature of curling or flattening irons should not exceed 400'F. Additionally, avoid using any curling or straightening chemicals, as well as oil sheen, hair glosser, mist, or similar products, as these may also cause tangling.
